About

My art is a magnifying glass into my own brain. It is the diary of a drama queen, visually expressing emotions and experiences through paint strokes and poetry. It explores the idea that the personal might also be the universal, and that anyone might trace over the same words and images and become the main character of the picture. I want to challenge efforts to silence what is considered too emotional, personal, and feminine. Sometimes my illustrations are a sob, or a scream, or a burst of laughter in the direction of what frightens us most. My goal is to create empathy using a paintbrush, to delve into my deepest anxieties and make them transparent hoping someone will be comforted by their catharsis.
